Name: Damian Wayne Door: Door Pass Canon: DC Comics Canon Point: Comics being comics it's a bit handwavey, but in general just after his departure from Teen Titans. Age: 15 Appearance: Damian gets his darker skin tone, green eyes, and cheek bones from his mother and his black hair, stubborn chin, and bullheadedness from his father. While hope springs eternal, he has yet to show signs of his father's height or build, and is instead slimmer built and still short. He tends toward a more formal style of dress, when out in the world, but has loosened up a bit recently. He's still a snob about things he considers messy though. There is literally always at least three weapons of some kind on him, but in civilian clothing they are well hidden. 1 2 History: Wiki CR AU (Optional): No Crau, but his timeline isn't always clear in the comics and I've done a bit of handwaving to ensure he's old enough and to fit it into the timeline. Personality: Positive Trait: Willing to Learn and Change - Damian is stubborn and judgmental, temperamental, and difficult. But he's shown that no matter how hard or frustrating he finds something, he's willing to try until he learns. He may be furious if he doesn't immediately understand, but he keeps going. That applies to both new skills and techniques - and to his life, where he is slowly but steadily struggling his way toward being a better person and not just a weapon. There have been setbacks and mistakes, but he keeps trying. He went from actively resenting and working against members of his Batfamily, to trying to understand and work alongside them, even sometimes opening up in bits and pieces. He (mostly) rejected the ideas he'd been raised to believe were absolute and moved on to try to become better than the League of Assassins. He's actively renounced his mother's teachings and stepped away from the League - but is again considering going back, not to take the same path, but to learn what he needs to do to forge his own. He's learned to apologize, if stiffly, to those he's wronged, such as for attacking his brothers, and for denying their worth. He actively seeks to make himself better than he was, even when it means dying, which he has done once. Negative Trait: Arrogance - Damian believes he is the best at almost everything because in the past he frequently WAS. He refuses to admit if something is beyond him, and believes he can do anything by himself, no matter how difficult. His arrogance sometimes blinds him to seeing the ways he CAN improve until he's already gotten deep into trouble for not seeing it. It can and has led to him putting himself in situations he's unable to handle and refusing to ask for help, even when it's needed. Given his first chance to lead a team, Damian believed his own opinion to be more important than the rest of his team, and kept a secret prison where he locked up the criminals he deemed the most dangerous. Arrogance led to him believing he was the most able to play judge and jury, and to be able to keep it from his team, who might have argued with him. Negative Trait: Recklessness - Damian has a good mind for tactics and strategy. He was trained into patience by the League of Assassins, and he knows how to pick his targets and his moments. He is, however, also a teenager with a multitude of anger issues and a deeply scarred psyche, so you never know if he'll make use of those skills or simply fling himself somewhere and start stabbing/hitting/kicking/biting. Whatever applies. That inner current of chaos has led to him, among other things, dying, attacking others, and working with Jason without his team's knowledge in the hopes of pulling off more complex ideas than he shared with anyone else. He's also impulsively acted out, attacking people who've done what he considers wrong without anything but a vague plan and blind trust in his own skills. He'll disregard Batman's orders if he feels like it, only to scold others for doing the same. Negative Trait: Insecurity - Despite his arrogance and skill, Damian is always aware that he's the son who came to Bruce a killer, and was never really wanted. For all his huffing about being the true Heir, Damian is always running a race against his own ideals of what he SHOULD be as Robin, and the ghosts of those who came before him and were taken on by choice. If you ask him, he'll say that he is, of course, far superior to any of them. But in the recesses of his mind where he tries valiantly not to venture, Damian is striving for approval, still. Not just from his father, but from the people he looks up to or wants to be close to. He keeps secrets and evades things because he believes it's for the best, yes - but also because he doesn't want to see the judgment of others he'd get for it. This was at its most obvious when he first arrived in Gotham and immediately wanted to destroy those he viewed as usurpers of his rightful position as Bruce's son. It's gotten better since then, but it still crops up. Whenever Damian fails at something, part of him feels he'll be rejected for failure. It's a good part of the reason he's decided to leave after his failure as leader of the Teen Titans. Powers and Abilities: Combat & Weaponry - While Damian boasts about his skill and can be a little overstated about it, he has trained since he was excessively young in all manners of martial arts, weaponry, and skills, and only learned more since he met his father. While Cassandra will likely always hold the title for the most lethal of the Batfamily, Damian is likely to be second after another growth spurt or so. He is trained to be silent and stealthy and attack from shadows if need be - but that's not something he always bothers with these days. The Arts - Damian is also a skilled artist who enjoys sketching and painting and has begun to spend more time with it as he gets older. He is also very skilled with the violin. Intellect - Like his father, Damian has trained to be observant and follow clues and leads. He has his father's intellect and ability to observe and connect dots to form a picture. He speaks a number of languages and can threaten and/or insult people in all of them, plus a few he isn't fluent in. Driver/Pilot - In theory he is a skilled driver and can pilot small aircraft and helicopters. In practice no one who is not invulnerable really likes to risk letting him. He has very little sense of self preservation as soon as he's steering something. Animals - Damian is a soft touch for animals and is good with them, able to be still and quiet and gentle for them in a way he can't always be with humans. He also will somewhat obsessively research any new animal he encounters or that strikes his fancy to know all about them and their care. He will sometimes perform unwanted wellness checks on animals in various zoos or farm settings. They're rarely very well appreciated by the animals' caretakers. Inventory: 1.
